Office XP - Office Home 2007 RRS feed

  • Apologies for my simple question.

I have found out my Office XP Pro is not genuine so I am purchasing Office Home 2007.  Will I be able to open, read and update my existing Word, Excel and Powerpoint files ok. Or, is there anything I should know about the difference?

  • Hello Dollydimple,

Thank you for visiting our Office Genuine Advantage "OGA" forum. Well I must say this question does fall outside the support scope for OGA. Did you purchase an upgrade or full version of Microsoft Office Home 2007? If you purchased only the upgrade you must have a Genuine full version of Office previously installed. This will allow for an upgrade to build upon the previous version. Since your previous version is non-genuine and if you purchased only an upgrade then no it would not work. First please ensure you back up all of your documents and email contacts. Also depending on how you have your email set-up you may need to back up emails. If you left the email on your ISP server then all should be okay but if you had them downloaded to your computer then you would need to create a PST file and back up your emails.

Should you need further assistance please post in the following forums:

    Take care dollydimple :-)
