SQL and other Ports RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anyone tell me what ports CRM uses?

I plan on using 5555 for the applicaiton pool.

Anyone know what other ports are used?

  • I don't know the port number but you can check for:
    - Authentication protocols (like Kerberos) for communication with Active Directory
    - Database protocols for communication with SQL Server

    My blog : http://mscrmtools.blogspot.com
    You will find:
Bulk Delete Launcher(Delete data based on advanced find queries)
Form Javascript Manager (export/import javascript from forms)
    ISV.Config Manager (graphical ISV.config edition - export/import)
View Layout replicator (customize one view and replicate to others)
And others (use tool tag on my blog)

  • If you install CRM with the default settings (and let CRM create it's own website) then only port 5555 will be used by CRM specifically.  You can of course change the port number that the CRM will be created on.  if you wanted to use host headers on the default website and implement SSL certs, then you'll be looking at port 80 and 443.  CRM does not do anything with SQL in terms of port numbers.  Hope this helps

  • Are you sure Dave? CRM communicate with SQL Server, especially if on other server

In this case, I think this KB applies: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287932/en-us

I found also this article which is not dedicated to CRM but that might help regarding port number used by Microsoft servers and applications
