So I'm experience some weird issue, I have patched my 2012 R2 servers 2 months ago with security only patches from April-2020 to August 2020. We tested it and it was all fine till the time I tried to install security only updates on few of my servers and
it gave a message that some updates were not installed, it happened with almost half of the servers while rest of the half were fine such that It won't install any update no matter security, feature etc, I tried to troubleshoot and found out that after uninstalling
KB4550970
I was able to install all the new updates, now the problem is
1) what could be the possible root cause of this abnormal behavior on half of the servers while all servers have same patches.
2) Is there any solution rather than uninstalling this KB from all servers.
I tried installing the updates from SCCM as well but no luck and all the previous updates were installed through SCCM.
Tried renaming software distribution, sfc /scannow, health restore, WMI, BITS services restarted but no luck.
