Currently my home network has a SBS Server running and it's being backed up by my WHS (I've even tested restore just to make sure...). I would like to add a second drive to my SBS and do a software mirror of the two drives (I am a belt and suspenders kind of guy).
Will the WHS support backing up the SBS when the disks are converted to Dynamic and mirrored?
Windows Home Server doesn't "support" backing up server operating systems at all, so no, it won't support your SBS server when you add RAID. :) What you want to ask is "Will it work?" Answer: almost certainly. Since it works today, there's no reason it wouldn't work tomorrow. However, I would rather strongly recommend you not use software RAID. It performs poorly, and recovering a software RAID array is a pain in the butt. You'd be much better off using the RAID that's built into a lot of motherboards these days.
Hopefully you're using the maintenance tools in SBS in addition to Windows Home Server backup? They perform tasks that Windows Home Server backup can't, and some of those tasks are essential...I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Thanks Ken. I am new to SBS, so I will have to check the mainenance tools with SBS. I will have to check to see if the motherboard supports RAID. Thanks for the reply. You are 2 for 2 on my questions...
