Workflow email body - how to format HTML properly? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I currently have a worflow which sends an email containing the body text of another email. (Basically when a support email is sent in, CRM receives it and send an alert to the support team which contains the body text of the email).

However, the formatting of this text is terrible! there is a lot of whitespace between lines and the email looks horrible! I have taken the 'html' code from the Description field in the database for the activity, saved as a HTML file and opened in Firefox/IE and it is displaying fine. So i know the format of the email in the DB is fine. Its just when it tries to use that in the email generated by the workflow does it lose the formatting!

Does anyone know how we can force the workflow to format the text correctly? Is it simply a limitation of CRM workflows?

Any help is much appreciated! :-)

  • We had a similar problem and ended up writing a custom workflow activity which is a regex parser. Have you considered just sending a link to the orignial email? Chris
