Importing Case records RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

this article seems to imply that source files we wish to import into CRM may contain Status and Status Reason columns. When I go to the Case entity and download the template to use as an Import file it contains the Status Reason column. It does not contain the Status column.

Is there any way I can simply use the template, add in a column for Status, assign appropriate values for each cell in the column and import it into CRM please?

    Thanks.

  • CRM uses specific messages to change the Status (statecode) of the case entity, and it may not support updating them via the import. An alternate approach is to create a separate column to indicate the Status value, and create a workflow to fire on this to apply the state change

  • Thanks very much.

Have you any documentation regarding how the Process can "interrogate" the xml import data, look for the Status column value against each record and then process the Status accordingly?
