  • Ok so i studied or i thought i studied and i failed the 70-648 exam.  Since it is to be retired on the july 31st and that means i will need to take the 70-640 and 70-642 exams.  if i bought the training for the 70-648 from MS e-learning will that work to cover all of the 640/2 exams or should i grab material more specific for those exams.  Thanks

  • Hi KirkSH,

Sorry you didn’t pass the 70-648 exam. However, you can take comfort in knowing that Microsoft upgrade exams are always harder than the individual exams that make them up. Therefore, the 70-648 exam will be harder than the 70-640 or 70-642 taken individually.

If you’ll be taking the 70-640 and 70-642 exams individually, then I would definitely suggest that you acquire separate study materials for each exam. This will allow you to focus on the specific objectives of each exam in more detail, thus increasing your chances of success.

Microsoft’s e-Learning courses will never be enough on their own to help you pass an exam. Instead, I would suggest a combination of other materials such as the Microsoft Self-Paced Training Kit for each exam, CBT Nuggets, Transcender Practice Tests, and Microsoft’s free TechNet Library.

When you pass these two exams, along with exam 70-646, you will become an MCSA: Windows Server 2008. I wish you every success with your certifications.

    James
