OK so i ran the diagnostic test and it passed everything, do you think it could be to do with the registry? I recently downloaded Advanced System Care which fixes registry errors, do you think if i ran a system restore it could fix the problesm? and it came pre-installed on the computer which i bought from BestBuy.

Hmmm - your report hasn't changed.
Advanced SystemCare is something that I would tend to regard as pure snake-oil - and potentially harmful.
First off, see if you can use the program to undo all changes it's made to the system since you installed , then try validation again (then uninstall the thing!).
If that doesn't work, try a System Restore back to about 3 days before the system flagged the problem (it leaves a little wiggle-room to make sure it's not a result of internal scanning, which happens every 72 hours or less)

  • Hello Johnpail182,

In order to receive the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.

You're confusing Activation and Validation here - not unusual.
Activation appears to be OK (although from what I can tell, this machine is not usually sold with Ultimate installed).

    Your problem is with Validation.
You appear to have Firefox set as your default browser.
If you've been using that for your attempt to validate, then try using IE instead - if you;ve been using IE, try Firefox :)

Sometimes such problems can be the result of overly aggressive security settings or software, or an infestation of malware - or simply a problem with your internet connection at the time.
What Security software (AV/Suite/Firewall) do you have installed?
Have you had a recent virus infection or malware infestation?

Please try manual Validation again - go to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate and see what happens.
If it fails, you should be directed to the Diagnostics page  (www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag) see what it has to say, and follow the advice on what to do. once complete, try validating again.
run a new MGADiag report, and post your results.

Was Ultimate pre-installed when you bought the computer? If not, where did you get it from?.
