The ODBC standard

Question
-
Hello, all
Where can I ask a question about the ODBC standard in
general, independently of a specific RDMBS?

There are no forums specific to ODBC. If you're asking about SQL Server then try the forums I linked.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=databasedesign
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/sqlserver/en-us/home?forum=ssdt
If it were msaccess then try asking here.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_access
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/home?forum=accessdev
or possibly;
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=adodotnetdataproviders
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=adodotnetdataset

Thank you, Guido, but I should prefer answers from Microsoft
ODBC experts on the official forum. I don't think they are
watching tek-tips.com . I will, however, go to tek-tips if
all else fails, but this is not really a solution. There
must a Microsoft forum where my question would not be off-
topic.

There must a Microsoft forum where my question would not be off-Topic.Your original question aimed at the ODBC Standard, not a special Microsoft product.
This MSDN Forum is a community forum. I don't know where you can find only Microsoft employees who are ODBC experts.
You should ask Microsoft directly where you can find them: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

The ODBC standard is a Microsoft product, is it not?
There is a higher chance of receiving highly qualified help
from Microsoft specialists in this forum than in any other.
Thanks for the contact link, I will try it, but I fear MS do
not provide free consultations... In this topic I am asking
about a suitable section in the MSDN forum. I think I'll
try "SQL Server Data Access" for lack of a better place.

I'd probably try asking here.

Thank you, Dave. If the admins will be kind to me, they
will move my question to whatever section they see fit
instead of deleting it on sight.

According to the documentation https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/odbc/microsoft-open-database-connectivity-odbc?view=sqlallproducts-allversions
you should ask for support here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?linkid=5521

You're welcome. I'd just re-ask your question in the suggested forums.

Guide, Microsoft Help and Support does even list ODBC
among the products amenable for support.Dave, reask the question about where to ask about ODBC?
I would rather get down to the matter at hand.
