Import Customization Errors between CRM 4.0 Servers RRS feed

  • I've been given the job of testing the deployment of custom CRM entities we've developed, but I'm having some issues. In the trace file there are loads of messages like this one:

    Crm Exception: Message: organizationui With Id = be53dccd-102a-44a6-a7e5-11e27f34063e Does Not Exist, ErrorCode: -2147220969

    I've done some checking and this error does get a mention but only when upgrading between CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0.

    This does not apply to me as I am exporting from one CRM 4.0 server (development) to import into another CRM 4.0 server (testing), but only thing different about these two CRM 4 boxes if they have different organization names. Both servers have roll up 10 installed.

    So why can I not import entities from one server to another without generating all these errors in the trace file?

  • Hmm, you are most likely right. Do you have problem to import the customizations to a different CRM installation? This could help you identify where the problem resides, whether it's your development server or the test server.

    One more thing that you might want to try is to ensure that you have done "Publish All Customizations" before exporting from your development server.

  • I'll give that a try, but given the scale of the errors I guess it will be wishful thinking.
