Firewall, Anti-virus not enabled at logon RRS feed

  • When I logon as administrator I get the message "You may be at risk ..." and it indicates my Live One care firewall and AV protection are not enabled - sure enough when I click the balloon both are shown as "off". Approximately one minute later they both return to their default "On" green condition. This doesn't happen when I logon as a limited account - all One Care protection is green. Is this normal?

  • Well, I wouldn't call it normal, but it is due to services that are starting at login. Apparently, under the admin login, more services and startup programs are taking resources away and preventing OneCare from fully starting, hence the warning from the Windows Security Center (I assume it is not OneCare reporting this to you) and then the eventual startup of OneCare clearing this error.
