  • Hi, i am trying to activate my Home premium licence on my laptop (retail). I had to do a clean install and have completed this, but when i go to activate it, or change to another HP key i get the error code 0x8007000D from the activation screen on windows.

    I suggest contacting your local Activation Call Center (list of Activation Call Centers: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/resources/vol/numbers.mspx). Explain what you have experienced. They should be able to assist you further. Let us know how this works out.

    Thank you for visiting our forum today. Are you using a retail version of Vista or the OEM recovery media which came with your Acer computer. What product key are you using:  the one from the bottom of your computer or the key which came with the retail version of Vista?

  • Hi Stephen,

    I have both keys so can use either retail of OEM key on laptop. I tried both keys and none of them work for activation. Any help would be appreciated.

    time of the diag i entered in the retail key.
