The 0044 error typically occurs if part of OneCare from a prior install remains behind. However, since your problem actually involves an infection that was not prevented or removed by your security software before you attempted the install of OneCare, you need to deal with that. It is often impossible to install new security software when the PC is already infected. Try an online scanner first:
