Stitching a large (>50) panorama causes weird issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • All compositions below ~50 photos work as expected. But some over this limit behave oddly. Sometimes the panorama is tilted and needs a rotation, which is not terrible. But some compositions look like S-curves (sine?) on the automatic setting and sometimes even choose planar motion. And some are wacky.

When I choose one of the other motions the program chooses rotation motion and produces the expected result.

So is there a way of fixing this?

  • There is no automatic limit at more than 50 images, it's just that as you throw more and more images at ICE the probability of getting an image with very few matchable or ambiguously matchable images increases.

Thanks hqz_swr. This is what I was going to recommend.  If you are shooting more the 50 images you should really be shooting in a fashion that works with the ICE structured panorama workflow.  Structured Panorama is accesbile from File:New Structured Panorama ...
