Downloaded the installer, ran it and it downloaded, installed and ran--or tried to run--an initial scan of the system (a Windows XP Pro SP3 HP with 2GB of RAM and no egregious problems--a test bench system), then froze less than a minute into running.
Uninstalled, rebooted and repeated the process with the same results. When it freezes it will not close nor cancel, the window cannot be moved and it requires Task Manager to end the process in order to close the two processes and application.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you find a work-around or solution to the problem?
After being pleasantly surprised by the smooth workings (once installed) of Security Essentials, the bloom is off the rose once again.
