Can I add users from other OU after installation? RRS feed

  • Question

  • when you install CRM, you need to choose one Active Directory OU. after that, can add users from other OU to the CRM? In our organization, there are only two levels of OU: one root and many child OUs. I do not want select the root OU because I know that will not be the case. However occasionally some users from other OUs may want to join the CRM. I should be able to do it later?

  • Think of the Organization Unit you need to specify when installing CRM as just a container to which security can be applied. Any users you wish to add as CRM users will be added to a couple of groups that get created inside this OU. Their accounts don't actually need to reside inside this group. Once you go through the process of adding a new user to CRM - the application will take care of adding the users to the correct groups in AD.
