SSL HE(double-hockey-sticks) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

Just finished installing WHS 2011 on my HP MediaSmart x485. All went well and now I'm going through the getting started routine. Now I know WHS only works with Enom and GoDaddy for site/SSL (along with homeserver.com) through the wizard...lame. But it's said you can configure this manually for vendors outside these choices. So here's what I did:

    1. Registered domain with namecheap.com
    2. Purchased SSL cert for domain
    3. Added SSL cert to WHS keystore
    4. Binded SSL to all HTTPS entries in WHS related IIS sites
    5. Ran remote access wizard and chose have my own domain
    6. Entered details, canceled lookup, and finished wizard
    7. Tested remotely...all worked

The only real issue is that WHS still thinks my domain name does not resolve properly. Is there some way (via registry or whatever) to let WHS know all is good or will I just have to live with the annoying warning message? Your thoughts please ;)

    Thank you much!
