  • Question

  • Can a addon run in the background when the console is closed, or would it be best to make such a addon a service?

I am planning on creating one, and as I dont have access to the WHS API yet, I cannot find out for myself.

    Thanks,

    Josh

  • If you have access to the internet you have access to the API Smile

But to answer your question; No, Add-in's cannot run in the background. Any program you wish to be running regardless of whoever is logged on should be a service.

  • An add-in is only running when the console is running. If you have functionality that requires 24/7 background processing, it should be made into a service.
