Number of published duplicate detection rules RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know why Microsoft limits the number of published duplicate detection rules? (crm 2011)
I can publish five for the same entity, but when i try to publish the sixth, i get this error:

Cannot Publish More Duplicate Detection Rules
The selected record type already has the maximum number of published rules.
Unpublish or delete existing rules for this record type, and then try again.

Maybe there is some another problem, not just number or not a number.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

I think that it is purely a decision around performance - the more rules you have, the longer it takes to check for duplicates. Can you add your new rule into an existing rule?

  • Thanks. I will check it.

So, do not you think that this is due to some condition in one rule that conflicts with the condition in another rule, just number of rules?

Maybe somebody knows, how can i increase it?

  • No it is rule and you can't change minimum in a supported way.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi Dmitri,

If you are using Crm On Prem that you can increase it (technically unsupported I think) http://greekcoder.blogspot.dk/2010/11/change-max-publish-duplicate-detection.html

but if you are using Online - then there is no way to increase it.
