Public IM connectivity issue RRS feed

  • Question

    Hi All!

I've got a problem getting OCS 2007 Edge server connection to public IM. Here is our configuration:

    Server "MAIL":

OCS 2007 Standard edition on win 2k3 sp2

Exchange 2003 is installed on this server as well

    Server "OUTSIDE":

OCS 2007 Public IM Edge Server on win 2k3 sp2 with two nics

    Server SALES:

    win 2k3 sp2 DC

Ok, Our internal Communicator works great; users can IM no problem. When I add an external user (IE "someone(contoso.com)@msn.com" and IM them I get an error:

"The message did not get sent" and "the server timed out". Here is what I can get from debugging:

    TL_ERROR(TF_CONNECTION) [0]0BF4.1654::08/16/2008-18:08:14.719.00028ccc

    LogType: connection

    Severity: error

Text: Recieve operation on the connection failed

    Peer-FQDN: federation.messenger.msn.com

    Peer-Name: federation.messenger.msn.com

    Connection-ID: 0x1F01

    Transport: M-TLS

    Result-Code: 08x0072746 WSAECONNRESET

Can someone point me in the right direction to correct this issue? I'm really in the dark on this.

    Thanks in Advance!

  • Have you setup federation for this remote user?

Have you configured federation for MSN, YAHOO and AOL? (you need separate licenses for this and there is configuration required by Microsoft)
