Good ranking in Yahoo and Google but nothing in live search RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have posted this in a private area a few weeks back with no response, so let's try it here.

I setup a new website several months back and got picked up very quickly by both Yahoo and Google, however, Live Search only has 1 page indexed and none ranking.

Can you give me any advice on improving the ranking for our site? We don't have backlinks yet since we are relatively new, but our content is fairly good.

    Thank You,

  • In my opinion, good quality, on topic, backlinks is the second most important factor in building rank. If you are an island all alone out in the middle of cyberspace with no connections to your site from other domains, you cannot expect to rank very highly.

  • Hi Ken,

You are currently ranking very low. Please review our blog post:  http://blogs.msdn.com/webmaster/archive/2008/01/11/i-m-not-ranking-in-live-search-what-can-i-do.aspx

  • Hi Brett,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I understand I am ranking very low in Live Search but why? I am ranking pretty well in Google and Yahoo! What is the difference?

As I said, we are a young site with no links yet, however I have optimized some of the content, created a sitemap, etc.

    Thanks,

    Ken
