    I have Microsoft office on one of my compuers but not my new laptop.  I am using  Microsoft Word for removing backgrounds from pictures, but on my laptop since I do not have it I am forced to use alternatives.  Does anyone know any of the word alternatives that offer this feature or something similar?

    You can install GIMP, the Photoshop plugin and try the old GML grow cut plugin, works really well.  That's a lot of work though. 

    I know this site offers removing of backgrounds but I've never used it:
