I have been unable to install to my laptop running xp-pro. No problem installing to a vista and xp home desktop. I am not running any packet software (uninstalled it after initial failure.) I always get the above error.

I would recommend contacting support, if removing InCD didn't resolve it. On the other hand, there is another Nero component that has been known to cause conflicts - sorry for not recalling the name, but it a module that handles launching Nero programs based on the detection of media in the drives.
Is this the beta 2.0? If so, support for 2.0 Beta - http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=onecarev2 - use the "Get More Help" link in the lower right of the page to contact support via email.
And, please file a bug on Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=168
See the Bug Submission Guide - http://connect.microsoft.com/content/content.aspx?ContentID=3480&SiteID=168 - for details on how to create and submit the Support Log zip file with your bug.
If it is 1.6, Support for v1.6 is via the information here - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1183038&SiteID=2

Thank you for your response. I was aware of the problem and had already uninstalled InCD before trying to install OneCare.
Any other thoughts?Thursday, September 27, 2007 1:53 AM -
