could not recover files saved on thumb drive after a pc restore RRS feed

    My registry was so corrupt I could not save my files and settings using my cd/dvd so I saved them onto a usb flash drive.

    This was on xp home edition. Used file transfer wizard to store files on flash drive but after restore the flash drive was not recognizable.

    I think the files were saved on the flash drive as a D: drive but after recovery my cd/dvd was back as the D: drive and xp thinks my flash drive is/was a E: drive therfore not accepting the saved files.

    Any ideas how to trick/tell xp to recover these saved files and settings?
