Reference questions about an application I accidentally added to my Facebook profile which I think may be the start of a Trojan virusHELP RRS feed

  • Question

  • I uninstalled  application entitled, "Page Rage" from my computer, but the darn template is still coming up on my fb profile page and my system has (since on or near my attempt at uninstalling it) repeatedly been giving me a "you have a worm and/or trojan program" with a bunch of urgent "download THIS program to clear out the virus!" It looks like it may be instructing me to do so by Windiows Live, so I clicked download. When I clicked it it warns me the <helpful(?)> program doesn't identify who they are and a recommendation to not continue appears so I don't continue. My One Care seemed to be working hard, over time while scanning and stuff. Now One Care is showing a Green- "all is well and good" color (until today when it went yellowy orange telling me to do another back up even though I just did a back up two days ago fearing the worst with this trojan virus).. the green color was nice to see again, except when I am trying to enter information on Facebook or type blogs and stuff, my computer appears to go on it's own and also it appears to be just fitting my input in while it seems to run other programs according to the status bar at the bottom quickly flashing other loadings. ?????

  • So when my computer seems to exhibit the 'over active' status bar activity is it just my One Care Live working while I work? If it is then why does my typing and posting seem to be so interrupted and/or broken in its responses? Can't find a troubleshooting phone number so can someone tell me if this forum is a good place to get my answer and/or where I can get a representative to help me with this?

  • Hi Shoshanna,
PageRage isn't a Trojan.  Its a completely safe plug-in.  I've been using it for over a year.  If you continue to have problems - you can contact their support team for help.  You can also just try visiting the PageRage website and remove the layout from there.
