Integrating with Dynamics web-services RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

I've been asked to integrate a piece of software that my company produces against Dynamics CRM.  Our software iterfaces with various CRM-type systems to retrieve customer details from them and create and update cases in them generally through web-service calls or other HTTP calls.

I'm completely new to Dynamics, can anyone help point me in the direction of documentation or a tutorial covering any kind of interfaces/web-services on Dynamics that an external system can call to make those kind of operations - search for a customer, create a case, update a case etc.

Also, is there any way of signing up for a developper account on Dynamics to test against while I develop against those interfaces?  Please help!

  • Hi.

You can download and check SDK . It contains information about CRM WebService and describes how to use it.

Are you using CRM Online or do you have an On Premise installation.  If On Premise, here is a link that will explain how to create a test or Dev environment.  If you have CRM Online, then you'll need to contact Support

  • We don't have a Dynamics system at all at the moment, we're doing this work on our software product to allow customers who use our software to integrate with their Dynamics systems in future so what I'm looking for is the easiest way to get hold of a Dynamics system that I can then test against while doing the development.  Online would be ideal, especially if there's a trial version we could start with but it seems like as soon as I tell the site that I'm UK based, any promise of an online trial disappears :-\  Any advice on the best way to start with any kind of Dynamics system would be appreciated.

  • You can download a 90 day trial version.  If you are not a Microsoft Partner, you might want to consider looking into that.

  • Thanks Donna, that's great.  I'll check with my boss about the Partner program I think we at least used to be a partner so we might have a Dynamics copy somewhere or other.
