  • Question

  • I have been reading the Self-Paced Training Kit for the 70-680 exam. This will be my first certification exam  and so far everything has been going well except when I read some reviews on this book and people's exam results after using this as there preparation material. It seems that a lot of people are saying that much of the questions on the exam are not covered in the book.

I have read through the forum and have seem some resource links on specific areas of the exam, but nothing  that covers all the material you should know for the exam. I personally enjoy the book so far, but would like to know if there are any other books or material I should be reviewing in addition to the one I am currently reading. I am making sure to read the book front to back, including all the practice labs and practice questions.

My question is, is there something else I should be reviewing or should I be okay taking the exam after completing the self-paced training kit for the 70-680 exam?

Answers

  • I'd suggest looking at the "Skills measured" page for the exam:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-680#tab2

Check all the entries on the page, and for those that you are not entirely sure that you have the adequate knowledge, search Technet for the corresponding technical information. This will be more "dense" than what you get from a book, but will be very detailed and complete, so you will be sure to get the information that you need.

  • Thanks a lot to both of you, the site is so big it's hard to find all this information. I will probably run through that once I complete the book to make sure I feel comfortable with everything.

  • There are three courses available for Windows 7. 6292, 6293 and 6294.  So probably questions will come from these courses. My suggestion is to take a look on those courses outline and make sure that you are familiar with topics covered on these courses.
