I live in Mexico; can I get OneCare in English? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am an American, but I live permanently in Mexico.  The list of countries covered says that in Mexico one can only get OneCare in Spanish.  Can I sign up for the UA version in English?

  • If you change the language in Internet Explorer to Spanish (Mexico) you can subscribe, then change the language back to English. To change language in Internet Explorer open Tools>Internet Options>General>Languages>Add.

  • Jim,

Thanks for the answer.  I need a little more detail.  Here is what I understand.

    1) Change the language in Internet Explorer to Spanish (Mexico).  Actually I just moved it to #1 position and left the English in second place.

    2) Go to Live OneCare web site.  I see that after googling Live OneCare the first choice is the Spanish web site for OneCare.  I can click on the button for "Descargar version de prueba gratuita de 90 días."

    3) Can change back to English and use the trial version for up to 90 days or do I have to subscribe right away?

    4) If I can change back to English and use if for up to 90 days, do I have to change back to Spanish in order to subscribe?

    5) A related question--Is  the trial version a complete version of OneCare?

    6) Another question--When I change the language in Internet Explorer back to English, will all of OneCare's instructions and explanations be in English?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Jacki

  • Hello Jacki, You understand points one and two correctly. On number three you can use the trial for the full ninety days and number five the trial version is exactly the same as the subscription version of One Care. On number four you will have to change back to Spanish to subscribe. Number six I'm not sure about. Before you decide to purchase you should change back to English and open One Care and the One Care help files to see what it will look like.

  • For number 6, yes. In fact, when you change the IE language to Spanish, only IE will be in Spanish. OneCare will always use the operating system language settings.
