ActiveSync Dysfunction RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • It's very disappointing to find that ActiveSync lacks a great deal of simple functionality, especially since it seems that its functionality continues to be reduced with updates.  I can't understand why on earth Microsoft would remove the capacity to filter categories when syncing or not allow us to choose which folder(s) (other than the default) we want to sync.  Why would you not offer this functionality when it is readily available in other programs?  Why should we pay for expensive syncing programs when this simple feature could easily be offered and has been in the past.  From what I can tell, they would rather tell us what we should want or accept rather than listening to their customers and giving us what we want, not what they want to offer or want us to want.

  • I'm rather new to this windows mobile world but I did discover that you CAN synch other folders once you have the default folders synched.  Once you've done a synch, in Outlook, click Menu, then Folders - then Menu again & show all folders.  Once all your folder tree is displayed, click Menu Manage Folders, then select a folder (other than the defaults) that you want to synch and click synch, then click Done.  Hope this helps!
