Calendars

Question

Hi
I have a question about resource calendars. There is a general calendar that we use for all resources and projects. I want to have an ability to add some days off for each user. Is it possible or not?

Hi ALi,
Not sure what version you are using, but in short , yes you can do so. Depending on your requirement, are all resources having off time simultaniously or not? If they do ,edit the "General" calendar on to include those off times. Other than that you will maybe have to create more speific resource calendars or you could even book leave for them on an admin task or project.

Hi Ali,
in addition to Andre's explanation, you can also do it in a different way: Open your resources from Resource Center, double-click on their name and klick on Change working time. The dailog will let you enter any exception directly for selected resource. Moreover, if you use Administrative Time in timesheets, everything entered by the resource for a category set to "Non work", will also be added as calendar exception for this resource.

Hi,
You can configure enterprise wide calendrs that will impact all projects via the Enterprise Calendar functionality in Project Server (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg597676.aspx). You can also choose to enter individual resource availability on their resource calendar via Project Professional.
