Hi,
Ok, I'll tell you a little bit about what happened the other day.
It was a Monday and our internet router was playing up again. So I switched it off to reboot it. But when I turned it back on, nothing happened - no response, nothing.
I then pooed my pants.
I acquired a replacement router but to configure it to replace the old one.
This is where the problems start.
To give you an idea of the infrastructure, I have drawn a diagram of how things look:
Network Infrastructure DiagramBoth the mailsweeper and the router appear to be on a 217.40.106.XX network. The old router's IP address was apparently on a 217.40.106.65. However when I use this, an IP conlflict message appears.
If I use another IP address in the range, we get an error message appears when we try to send emails externally from our Lotus Notes Server -
"Error transferring to MAIL.SALONSDIRECT.CO.UK; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 550 5.7.1 This system is configured to reject mail from 217.40.106.65 (DNS reverse lookup failed)"
This error message appears when I set the router's IP address setting to anything other than 217.40.106.65.
I am clearly missing something here - can anyone help?
Many thanks in advance!
