crm synchronize with outlook RRS feed

  • I have just installed CRM 3.0 with a new install of Small Bus. Server, Exch Server and Sql Server and all appears now to be working.

     

    It wasn't easy but, oh well; The client has now configured CRM for all her staff and has noticed that everything is working fine except under her profile and not anyone elses when she selects ' synchronize outlook with CRM' nothing happens. But it works fine with all other staff members.

     

    The owner is a cRM administrator and was until today made a domain admin but that has been deselected.

     

    Can anyone help please. CRM is one huge steep learning curve.

  • There are several things that can cause this to happen.  For example, in 3.0 there was a bug that caused synch problems if you had shared Outlook calendars open, and another that caused issues if you had CRM contacts set to synch that had birthdays prior to 1970.

    If you are having this issue still, I would follow these steps:

    1.  Download and install the CRM 3.0 VC3 client

    2.  Download and install rollup 2 and rollup 3 client patches.

    Note that both of these are also issues with 4.0, but hotfixes have been released if you see any of these problems.  One thing that you should check in 4.0 is the synch errors folder in Outlook--it will show you if you are having any synch issues.  I checked mine several weeks after going to 4.0 and it had thousands of synch errors logged.
