Cannot sign on to Microsoft Money Plus RRS feed

    I was working on Microsoft Money Plus today and have been regularly for years.  My computer made a funny sound and shut down.  When I turned it back on and tried to enter Money again it keeps saying my password and email do not match.  I have it backed up but sill cannot access it.  Tried everything I know of but no luck.

    I would try this process suggested by Cal Learner:

    Disconnect from the Internet.  Pull your ethernet cable or turn off
    your modem -- whatever it takes.  Start Money, Click below the
    password field to select "I want to sign in to Money directly,
    without access to all online services." then click Next.

    Remove your LiveID.  Do not attempt to change your LiveID.  If you
    already changed your LiveID, use the credentials that were in
    effect at the time that you saved that Money file.
     
    To remove the Live ID, go to File-PasswordManager, and choose to
    remove your LiveID.  To remove or add a conventional password, also
    see File->PasswordManager.

    If that does not work, I would next try re-installing Money.  BTW, it is likely that the unexpected shutdown was caused by a problem with some other software or a hardware defect.  Money is pretty robust.

    Let us know how you make out.

    Copy your recent *.mbf and *.mny files to other media, in case something else happens.

    If you had a password and email address on your file, and you know the password and email address, do the logging in offline that Bill described.

    Before reinstalling, I would try restoring my newest *.mbf file. If that did not work, I would try restoring my second-newest backup file

    Thank you!!  I restored the next to last backup and it worked.
