Validated in XP, but not VISTA RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Office 2000 and had no problem validating it.  I also have Outlook 2003 and I had no problem with validating it in XP but it will not validate in VISTA.  Same computer, just updated to VISTA.  This is extremely frustrating and to tell you the truth I am sick of this validation ***.  What is wrong?  What is going on?

  • Bob,

Please run the MGA Diagnostic test. This will allow us to analyze what is happening so we may provide you with a resolution. Please Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.

Step 2 is tell us about the COA. Tell us:

    1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center?
    2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
    3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?
    4. DO NOT post the Product Key.
    5. Please also provide a short description of the issue you are experiencing.

NOTE: The data collected with the Genuine Diagnostics Tool does NOT contain any information that can personally identify you and can be fully reviewed, by you, before being posted.

    Thank you Bob,

  • I  ran the MGA Diagnostic test and it showed everything as being genuine.  The problem occurred when trying to download the Hotmail program for Outlook 2003.  It required validation and said I failed and refused to let me download the program.  Now the MGA Diagnostic test shows everything including Office 2000 and Outlook 2003 as being genuine.
