Can't view profile in Opera RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I can't view my problem in Opera 11.  What's strange is the problem isn't within the browser, it's on the server.  When I try to view my profile I instead see:

    Sorry, we were unable to service your request. Please try again later.

    If you continue seeing this message, then report this issue here.
    If I click on the "here" link I see:

    Server Error in '/Forums' Application.
    Runtime Error
    Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

    Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

    <configuration>
      <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
      </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

    <configuration>
      <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
      </system.web>
    </configuration>

    I only have these problems in Opera.  I've tried changing my browser string in site preferences to report that it's IE, but it doesn't help.

  • Hello,

    I also prefer opera as a web browser but I think coming to a Microsoft forum and complain about another browser won't help us :) they will just suggest to use IE instead :)

  • What's annoying is that it's probably their browser sniffing that's causing my problem.  If they'd just render everything as though it was IE8, I'd probably be okay.
