Duplicate detection doesnt work Qualifying Lead RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We are facing Problem with  duplicate detections when we qualify leads.

    Even when we populate the
    contact name for the duplicate contact into the lookup (the popup
    telling us there might be a duplicate) when we click continue CRM still
    creates a duplciate contact record and links the newly created
    opportunity to that duplicate contact record. 

    Enviornment : CRM 2013 RU1 applied

    Using web client or outlook.

  • Hi CRMizer,

    That's how CRM duplicate detection works. It detects and tell you that it's going to be a duplicate; but it does not stop you from creating the duplicate record; if you want you can go ahead and create it.

    If you want to prevent this happening you can create a plugin to get it done.

  • Hi Sachith,

    I beg to defer on this. Please read my post carefully, when we try to convert a lead and the system finds duplicate, it will give you a popup where in it will ask you to choose from the contacts and accounts found.

    I have tried it with CRM 2013 SP1 and it behaves normal.

    Help is much appreciated.
