Question
-
The above is what I was greeted with when I turned on my computer this morning. I can't get to the Start button, only the licensing dialogue box and go online.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I started with XP Pro; bought the upgrade to Home Premium and then purchased Ultimate online. Everything had been activated and was working great. Last Friday, I'm greeted with "A change has occurred to your Windows License, pleaseenter your Product Key.
Bottom line, I called WGA support and they gave me a new key. No explanation as to how this happened. I read here or somewhere that updates were released Friday. I'm not saying that's what caused my problem, but I do have Automatic Updates turned off. Thanks for your help.

That only took me back to the Windows Activation box. I had XP Pro, bought Home Preminmum Upgrade and them upgraded to Ultimate.
When I try to use my Ultimate key file I get the messge; "this key cannot be used with this version of windows."
This is the error when I try to validate online 0x80080250
Thanks
Looks like MS has used up a few more days of my life with their incompetence.

You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4"
(w/o the quotes) in the Start Search box in the Start Menu and pressing
Enter.
The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.Monday, September 10, 2007 2:40 AMModerator -
Once again, this brings up another instance of the windows activation box.

Charles:
DId you buy an upgrade product for Ultimate? Or Home Premium? Or BOTH?
In order for you to use an "Upgrade" product key to Ultimate or Home Premium you need to start your installation with XP Professional.
What exactly are you trying to do?
