    This automatic update to factory installed Vista Home Premium failed.  There is nothing on my new machine that did not come with it out of the box or was downloaded automatically in earlier updates from Windows or Dell.
    The exact message,"Windows Update said "Security Update for Windows Vista (KB960803) failed" on 5/22/2009.

    On 5/22/2009 Vista Service Pak 1 was installed.  I do not know if the installation was before or after the failure notice was posted in my download log.

    I found no help with this problem at 'Windows Update Help and Support.'  'Dell PC Checkup' gave me a green check on everything it looked into.
