Wide lines truncated in Preview.

Question

If you look at this thread
http://forums.msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/vclanguage/thread/9b9453d0-cc1a-4ac5-82df-466fdce859f0
you will see that it has some wide lines. On Thread view there is a horizontal scroll bar (yuck), but in Preview it is worse -- the lines are truncated.

This appears to be fixed (by various updates over 3+ years).
Well, the missing content in the preview is gone, because the preview now uses the same code as the thread view.
But a wide line in a post still causes a horizontal scroll bar for the entire page, which is not desirable, IMHO.

The scrollbar solution was implemented because the truncation issue was worse. Brent has a separate thread where he talks about that (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/is/reportabug/thread/9a3344f9-9e14-459a-9349-77466f7bc823).
So this truncation issue is fixed now. Thanks!

Maybe I saw this thread 3 years ago. Do you have a link to it?
I agree horizontal scrollbar is better than truncation, but for me, a better solution would be a force wrapping of the long line.

No it was recent. Can't find the thread right now. Brent mentioned that they had to choose between truncation issues and the scrollbar, and the scrollbar was the better solution. They also talked about implementing a "Copy" button for easier copy and paste.Ed Price (a.k.a User Ed), SQL Server Experience Program Manager (Blog, Twitter, Wiki)
