WGA claims Office XP 2002 not activated. Office XP 2002 claims it is. RRS feed

    Hello Microsoft.

I recently installed the WGA update, and now I am in a situation where office XP 2002 claims that it is activated, yet I have the WGA popup continually telling me it is not activated.

I have tried a few of the solutions Ive found in these forums (deleting the LegitCheckControl.DLL and reinstalling the WGA control, "repairing office", etc, to no avail.

Ive run the validation took. Everything passes. I click "Validate office" and I get a response saying "Office not Activated"

So I launch each office App in turn, and try to activate it. Each one says "Already Activated"

I only have 1 office installation on my PC. But I seem to have two microsoft apps arguing with each other over whether Office is activated.

I have run the MGA diagnostics tool. It claims Office isnt activated. Here is the log file:

So can anyone tell me why, when I try to activate office, it keeps telling me "already activated"?

I would love to get rid of this pop-up nag thing. I am a former Microsoft SW engineer, so I am pretty forgiving of these things. But I would like a solution.

    Thanks
