Publish a Project at Project 2010 - How does it works?

Question
-
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows how does the new way of publishing works with project server 2010.
Does it publish all information or only the changed assignments?
How does a Publish effects a resource timesheet ?
Thanks,
Ofir Marco.

HI,
Since you didnt mentioned the version i assumed that you probably be talking about the Project 2007 :)
Publishing is not the same as it was in Project 2003, in Project 2007/2010 both you have the option of publish under the file menu and it publishes your project to the server.
however if you want to publish your certain part of the project only, you need to insert the publish in the project and set the value to no for the section of the project you dont want to publish. the default value of the publish field is yes.
Hope this answers your query.

Hi Ofir,
not really sure what you mean by "new way of publishing" in PS2010, but the basics of publishing the project to the server is the same as it was in PS2007. However PWA2010 offers you a web based project scheduling, you can create, save, and publish project all through PWA.
You have to publish your project plan, including the first time, each time when there is a change in your project plan in order to move the changed data to the reporting db and thus reflect the changes on the reports.
Hope this helps.

What i meant by "new way of publishing" reffered to the difference between Publishing with P2003 and P2010.
(Not sure about 2007)
With p2003 in order to publish a project from project proffessional to PS we need to go to collaborate menu --> Publish
And then there are the following choices:
- All information
- New and changed assignments
- Project plan
- republish assignments
What option does P2010 uses??

OK. I knew about where the Publish option is, i just wanted to know which of the 2003 options it represents.
Thanks, i think it helped.
So if I Understand correctly, the publish option publishes all the tasks exists (to project center and Tasks timesheet) unless i choose No in Publish field?
That means that it acts like publish --> all information ?
