  • Hello CTCTJC,

Thank you for contacting the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program forum. Is the Office Suite in question a trial and/or a beta version which came pre-installed with your system?  Have you installed a trial version of Office Ultimate 2007?  You are receiving an error status 104 which is an unknown Product Identification (PID).

This could be attributed to a Beta/Trial version of Office you previously installed and used. Some of the remnants could be left behind during the removal process. This may have caused incorrectly caused the error code 104. Please use the Office disk and uninstall the software.  The Microsoft Office in question may need re-installation and then uninstall using the disk.  Once you have completed the above steps let’s try validating Office again by clicking the Validate Office button.  See below:

    http://www.microsoft.com/genuine

Let us know if you have a beta and/or trial version of Office.  After you have completed the Office removal process and validation is still unsuccessful, click the link below and download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool.  Then click the Run button. Then click the Run button again. Then click the Continue button to perform the diagnostic. The Windows tab should show, click the Copy button to paste your report to the clipboard.  Then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum by adding a post in it and pressing Ctrl V (to paste the text). Clicking the OK button will clear the Diagnostic window.
