currently, winmo is only using portrait calibration data for portrait and landscape mode. when in landscape mode, the stylus pointing is less accurate than in portrait. Adding this separate data can help to increase accuracy in landscape mode.
Though the use of style is a hassle for some people, most of power users cannot live without it.
I think any devices dubbed with professional label should at least have reliable input, that's why RIM wins with its tangible key button that provides reliability
