Deploying a plugin for offline use RRS feed

  • Question

  • In order to deploy an off-line plugin for Dynamics CRM, you need to add the assembly public key token to the AllowList key for the MSCRMClient on each and every computer that will run the Outlook client.  While this can certainly be done, it's very impractical when you have approx. 150 computers deployed in 20 different countries to have IT visit each computer to make the registry change.

Looks like the PublicKeyToken for the Microsoft Multicurrency plugin gets installed with the client.  Is there no way to deploy a plugin for offline use without having to physically touch every Outlook client machine to make the registry change ??

  • Hi Lindsey,

I am not sure if you need to add the assembly public key token for the MSCRMClient. Did you deploy the plug-in the database? If so, should the plug-in be automatically pull down to that person's local SQL Express DB?

  • Darren, yes it is deployed to the database,  however, you still need to add the public key token to the MSCRMClient AllowList.
