Windows 7 64-bit Dell OEM Not Genuine Unable to Activate by Phone

Question
-
I recently reinstalled Windows 7 64-bit OEM on my Dell machine. I have been using this disc/license since I bought it with the machine, and have reinstalled several times, for various reasons. In the past, I have not done anything, and Windows automatically activated itself. I recall once having to activate by phone. This time, however, it came up after a few weeks saying it was not genuine. Worse, when I try to activate, it only gives me the options to enter a new product key, buy a new product key online, or "Contact Microsoft to help resove this problem." The last option merely gives me a generic help window. Nothing I do will get me to the Activate by Phone screen. "slui.exe 4", etc.; nothing. When I go to: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/validatenow.aspx and validate, I'm greeted by a successful validation. So, I can't even speak to someone to activate a legitimate copy. So far, my options are to pay $60 for technical support, or $100 for a new license. I did another fresh install to verify that it is an activation issue, and not a technical one with the same resulting problem. Any help is appreciated. Here is the output from MGADiag:

This copy of Windows is not valid on this computer. It is an OEM SLP copy.
Windows Product ID: 00359-OEM-8992687-00095
Windows Product ID Type: 2
Windows License Type: OEM SLPOEM SLP copies are only valid installed on the computer by the manufacturer at the time the computer is built. The problem is that this computer was built on Feb. 24, 2009.
<Date>20090224000000.000000+000</Date>
Windows 7 was not released to manufacturing until Jul. 24, 2009, five months later. Obviously this computer could not have shipped with this OEM SLP copy of Windows.
You need to restore the original Windows or purchase a full license copy of Windows 7 from a reliable dealer such as the Microsoft Store or Amazon Corp. eBay and other websites are rife with counterfeit copies of Windows so be careful.

That could explain it. I have so many Dells I might have upgraded to Windows 7 on this computer when Dell had the offer. That is why the OEM version isn't working; I need to find my upgrade disc. Thanks!Monday, April 11, 2011 3:47 PM

I wondered if maybe you grabbed the wrong disk.

So, how do you get access to activate by phone is it is not an option as the poster originally asked?

You obviously didn't read the OP as he states: "Nothing I do will get me to the Activate by Phone screen. "slui.exe 4", etc.; nothing."
We need to find out how to access the "Activate By Phone" feature, and are unable to using slui 4. Please help.

And did you read my response to the original post? - the reason that activation couldn't be accessed was that it was a non-genuine (i.e. counterfeit install that could never be activated anyhow.
If ou are having a similar problem please post your OWN MGADiag report in your OWN NEW thread.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- IN YOUR OWN THREAD, please

That's because his copy of Windows never will activate. It is pirated. If yours is pirated it won't activate either. Please observe announcement 2 above and post your issue to your own new thread. This is an old thread anyway.
