Reinstalling Windows XP Media Center & Product Validation Key

My laptop harddrive crashed & I had to replace it. I need to reinstall Windows XP Media Center. I have the install dvd that came with the laptop, however, I cannot find the product validation key. Is there a way to retrieve it?
