Resource Analysis - Standalone RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tested to see if I can perform Resource Analysis without doing a driver rating, you can but you need to se at least one drive in one of the projects to none.  This yields no project priority of course, and I assume it affects the outcome of Res Anal.

Then, when clicking into Res Anal after clicking thru Cost Anal it gives me a series of 'unknown' errors.  So I am looking for validation that you can not perform a Resource Analysis of a collecton of projects without setting the drivers and thus setting project priorities?

  • Sounds similar to my experiences, although I haven't examined that particular
issue closely.  One option if you don't want to use drivers, and if you want
to skip cost analysis to get to resource analysis would be to manually prioritize
the projects.  I can't remember where (although I think I call it out in
my white paper on the topic), but there is an option to manually prioritize
the projects.  Select that option and set all of the projects to the same
priority....that should allow you to get to the resource analysis screen.

  • Hi John,

You can also define project priorities using custom fields. You won't need any business drivers in that case. See this page to find out if this suits your needs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg597683.aspx
