Cannot connect to CRM Online 2011 mobile with mobile device RRS feed

  • Question

  • Every time I try and connect to CRM Online mobile, I get an error message

    Error message:

    Data connectivity problem

A secure connection could not be established.

I have tried 2 different online instance from UK and get the same message.

I have tried on my own android device and 2 company blackberry's and recieve similar messages.  I havn't got the blackberry error message to hand but can get it if needed.

I can connect via IFD without a problem on all 3 devices.

Is this a bug or am I missing something? Or are Microsoft blocking non-ms mobile browsers as well?

  • I have got CRM online mobile working on all 3 phones.  The answer was to install Opera Mini on all three hand sets.

  • Hi,

Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM is available through many mobile devices, operating systems, and browsers. If your device’s browser supports HTML 4.0 (or newer) and JavaScript, you have met the basic requirements to use Mobile Express. You do not need to install an application on your mobile device in order to use Mobile Express. You can access its full functionality by simply logging in through your mobile browser.

You may check the following URL for complete supported mobile, operating systems and browsers list http://rc.crm.dynamics.com/rc/2011/en-us/online/5.0/GS_CRM_mobility.aspx

  • Hi Jehanzeb

Thanks for the reply.  In this particular case, one of the devices that i have been testing with is HTC Desire HD which I believe supports both HTML4 and HTML5 and I still get a warning.  Also, the list provided lists the compatible Android phones as "Various" which is not very helpful.

I can get access to a Windows 7 phone so I can test on as it supports HTML4 and is on the list of supported devices.

I have now noticed that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  If I go to https://companyname.crm4.dynamics.com/m, I get the error message.  If I touch ok and back, and then go to the site again, it works.  This is not always the case though as sometimes it doesn't work.

  • Ok.  I can get it working on the HTC Desire HD by dropping the /m from the URL.  Not sure how it works or if this is correct, but it still takes me to the mobile site.

It still does not work on the Blackberry 9700 Bold though.  I know that it is not in the supported list but I am suprised that it does not work as I suspect its meets all the requirements.  Has anyone got a Blackberry 9700 Bold working with CRM online mobile or can confirm that it definately does not work?
