  • Question

  • Hey, ive read the other threads and i dont have any of the programs associated with the problem installed. I
    reformatted last week and this problem arose, so i reformatted again and only installed the essentials, then the error came up again. The error came up the day after I reformatted and did all the essential updates.
    Am I only allowed a certain number of reformats? What can I do to fix this? I cant even open control panel or print anything.

      No, you can reinstall as many time as you wish. You can also Activate as many time as needed, you will just need to Activate by Phone.

       The list, that we have, of incompatible programs are only the ones we know about, there is sure to be others.

        so the only suggestions I can make is to;

    1) Go to the website of the makers of each of your  essential programs and confirm you have the most up to date version as well as confirm that the most up to date version is, in fact, compatible with Vista. If the website has a Forum section, look thru it to see if anyone else is having a similare issue with that program in Vista.

    2) Shut down all the 3rd party programs and then run each one, by itself, for a few hours. If Vista experiances the problem, while that program is running, you know that program is the cause. (note: It doesn't matter if you have an incompatible program Installed, you will only see this issue while the incompatible program is actually Running).

    Thank you,
