Is it possible to backup a windows 7 pc to a standard windows home server?

  I have been using windows home server since it first released and it has saved my fanny many many times.  However, I just tried to restore my first windows 7 pc (the backups appear to be working fine) and using my original restore cd, the windows 7 pc could never find the home server, and I couldn't install the drives I had stored to a separate flash drive.  It occurred to me that my WHS may be too old for a full windows 7 restore.  Is that the problem?  If so, is there a solution?
